Mr. Kenneth “Buck” Bryant, age 76, of Lyons, died Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at The Select Medical Hospital in Savannah following an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County, growing up in Johnson Corner, living in Lyons most of his life, and he was a 1966 graduate of Lyons High School. He worked more than twenty-seven years at Piggly Wiggly Southern as shipping supervisor over the freezer, and retired after several years from the City of Lyons. He was a member of East Gordon Street Baptist Church in Lyons. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and wrestling, drinking coffee all the time, even in 100-degree weather, and spending time with his family. A daughter, Deloris Jean Joiner; parents, Roy Edward Bryant and Evelyn Jarriel Bryant; his twin brother, Kenny Bryant; and two sisters, Gladys Bryant Rolen and her husband Joe, and Sallie Mae Bryant Newsome and her husband Jerry precede him in death.
His family includes his wife of forty-six years, Jean Tootle Bryant; one son, Shannon Bryant and wife Angie, all of Lyons; five grandchildren, Dustin Joiner and wife Rebecca of Twin City, Dylan Joiner and wife Jessica of Lyons, Brittney Monroe and husband Trey of Ridgeland, North Carolina, Brandon Cowart of Dawsonville, and Kenlee Bryant of Lyons, nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorine Bryant Durrence and Karen Bryant Anderson and husband Phillip; sister-in-law, Janet Powell Bryant, all of Lyons, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Saturday morning, January 18th, 2025, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Melvin Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will assemble at the residence of a sister, Karen Anderson, 108 North Victory Drive, Lyons.
