June L. Dickerson

June L. Dickerson, age 76, of Vidalia, died Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia following an extended illness.  She was born in Valdosta and as a child moved to Bainbridge.  She was a 1966 graduate of Bainbridge High School and has lived in Vidalia since 1985.  She retired after sixteen years as Senior Secretary from Edwin I. Hatch Plant.  She was a member of Smith Street Baptist Church, and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing and playing Solitaire.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Garland N. Layton and Ruth Sowell Layton Darley; and brother, Ben Layton.

Her family includes two children, Michael Jones and wife Suzanne, and Pamela Jill Maddox, all of Vidalia; one sister, Bonnie Collier of Manchester; one brother, John Cox of Vidalia; three grandchildren, Christian Wise and wife Amber of Vidalia, Brittany Brook Shiver of Camilla, and Casen Jones of Vidalia; and one great-granddaughter, Paisley Mei Wise.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

A graveside funeral will be Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at 3:00 at Roselawn Memory Gardens, 2646 Thomasville Road, Bainbridge, GA 39819.  Reverend Clyde Billingsley will officiate..
