Mrs. Judy Phillips McDonald, age 80, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, April 13th, 2021, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after a sudden illness. She was a native of the Johnson Corner Community, but lived in Vidalia most of her life. She was a homemaker, a member of Vidalia Baptist Temple and was a long-time member of the former Vidalia First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed her Bible, crafts, the beach and doting on her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Phillips, Jr. and Julia Dell Corley Phillips.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Jack E. McDonald; three children, Terri Lynn McDonald, Gary E. McDonald and wife Wendy, and Ken McDonald and wife Robyn; two sisters, Diane Lawler and Becky Powell; four grandchildren, April Williams and husband Brandon, Shannon Scholfield and husband Aaron, Jonathon McDonald and wife Lindsey and Dalton Lawler, all of Vidalia; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
The funeral service will be Thursday, April 15th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Gordon Tippins and Pastor Daniel Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
