Mrs. Judy Stripling Adams, age 67, of Lyons, died Monday, January 23, 2023, at her home following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and was a 1972 graduate of Lyons Senior High School. She worked as a bus driver with Toombs County Board of Education, as a crop surveyor with Toombs County ASCS and also with the federal government performing aerial crop photography. She was owner/operator of Granny’s Antiques in Vidalia and was a member of the former Ohoopee Holiness Baptist Church. Judy enjoyed collecting glassware, antiques, photography, traveling, hummingbirds, and was actively involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juette Phillips Stripling Copeland and Lonnie Aaron Stripling; stepfather, Jim Copeland; brother, Lonnie Cecil Stripling; and sister, Mary Anna Stripling Cunningham.
Her family includes her husband of fifty-one years, Mike Adams of Lyons; two children, Mike Adams and wife Olivia of Statesboro, and Michelle Adams Crawford and husband Chris of Lyons; five grandchildren, Summer Adams of Savannah, Autumn Crawford of Lyons, Christian Adams of Statesboro, Alex Adams and wife Chelsea, and Luke Crawford, all of Lyons; one great-granddaughter, Ridley Adams; one stepbrother, James Copeland of Lyons; two sisters-in-law, Diane Stripling, and Sandy Hammock and husband John, all of Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Thursday, January 26th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Doyle Waller officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
