Ms. Joyce Kaye Hayslip Darley, age 81, of Swainsboro, Georgia, died Monday, January 5th, 2026, at Emanuel County Nursing Home after a long fight with Alzheimer’s disease. She was a native of Lyons, Georgia. She worked at Piggly Wiggly of Lyons and Vidalia, Altamaha Bank and Trust, and retired from Vidalia Federal Savings and Loan. She was member of Lyons First Baptist Church.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family, attending gatherings with them, spoiling her grandchildren, attending church and spending time with her church family. Her highlight was gathering with her sisters to celebrate birthdays and their annual Christmas gathering and gift exchange. She had an infectious laugh that would light up a room. They would reminisce about their childhood days, and the biggest laugh was the story of her jumping out of the top of the barn only to realize she could not fly.
She is preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, George and Della Hayslip; brother, Elliot Hayslip; and sisters, Laneth James, Linda Moye and Mary Gay.
She is survived by her children, George Darley and wife Belinda of Lyons, and Kimberly Rich and husband Stacy of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Blake Darley and Jessica Duffitt and husband Zane, all of Indiana, Kaylee Ramirez and husband Jesus and Trevor Rich, all of Swainsboro, Hunter Rich and wife Bailey of Lincolnton, Dillan Sharpe and wife Brittany of Lyons, and Morgan Sharpe of Vidalia; great-grandchildren, Caleb Hedman and Bentley Darley, both of Indiana, Adler Ramirez and Isaac Ramirez, both of Swainsboro, Ashton Rich of Lincolnton, Bryleigh Sharpe of Lyons, Alston Franklin and Asher Slater, both of Vidalia; sisters, Tommie Thompson, Betty Williams and Sharon (Tommy) Craft; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Bedgood officiating. Interment will follow at Hardens Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on January 9th, 2026, from 12:00 noon until just prior to the service.
