Mr. John Larry “Altamaha Red” Davis, age 75, of Santa Claus, died Friday, May 9, 2025, at his home following an extended illness. He was born and raised in the Charlotteville Community in Montgomery County and was a member of Charlotte Church. He graduated from Montgomery County High School in 1967, and then attended Middle Georgia College and the University of Georgia where he graduated in 1971. Larry worked at Edwin I. Hatch Plant as well as nuclear power facilities in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Maryland as a procedure writer and lead auditor. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and an excellent horseman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Quinton Davis and Elise Foskey Davis; grandparents, Rufus and Clyde Foskey and John and Florence Davis.
His family includes a son, Alexander Davis and wife Cheryl of Aiken, South Carolina; former wife and caregiver, Debbie Moseley Davis of Santa Claus; one brother, Jimmy Davis of Uvalda; special aunt, Rebecca Davis of Charlotteville; and several nephews, one niece, cousins, and a special puppy, “Little Boy”
A memorial service will be Tuesday afternoon, May 13th, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Shareon Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Moseley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.

The family would like to thank and acknowledge Bethany Hospice of Claxton for the kindness and loving care that was shown to Larry.
