Mr. John Donald Spikes, age 77 of Lyons, died Thursday, December 23, 2021, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born in Orange, Texas, lived in Washington, and then in Louisiana for twenty years before moving to Lyons in 1997. He retired after twenty years in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Petty Officer 1st Class, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed commercial fisherman while living in Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Pittman; one son, Brian Spikes; and parents, Sylvester and Eva Spikes; one son Brian Spikes.
His family includes one grandson, Erik H. Spikes and wife Kristin of Vidalia; and one brother, Randy M. Spikes and wife Cherrald of Albany, Oregon.
There will be no service.
