John "Buddy" Galbreath, Sr. Obituary

Mr. John Edward “Buddy” Galbreath, Sr., age 72, of the Sharpespur Community, died Monday, August 11, 2025, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia after residing at Meadows Park Health & Rehab for the last 4 years. He was born on December 28, 1952, to the late George Wilson Galbreath and Low Rita Maddox Galbreath. He was a 1970 graduate of Montgomery County High School, and lived in Sharpespur in Montgomery County most of his life. He worked for Dixon Dairy for many years as a dairy farmer and breeder. More recently, he worked at John’s Country Junction where he pumped gas for ladies and boiled peanuts. He was a member of New Corinth Baptist Church, and he enjoyed cookouts, fish fries, cutting grass, and helping anyone in need. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Gail Chancey Galbreath; son, John E. Galbreath, Jr.; two sisters, Lilly Marlene Galbreath Willhite and Dorothy Ann Galbreath; and two brothers, Gary Lee Galbreath and an infant brother, Billy Franklin Galbreath.

He is survived by two children, Crystal Galbreath-Wiseman and husband Christian of Vidalia, and James Hester and wife Rachel of Baxley; seven grandchildren, Mason Galbreath, Brooke Hester, Jordan Hester, Aubree Copeland, Jase Wiseman, Carter Sharpe, and Madelyn Sharpe; two brothers, Michael L. Galbreath and wife Brenda, and Randy Galbreath and wife Cristy, all of Sharpespur; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

The funeral service will be Thursday morning, August 14th, 2025, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Mulling officiating. Interment will follow at Galbreath Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mason Galbreath, Kace Galbreath, Karson Galbreath, Karter Galbreath, Michael Chambers, and Kelly Dunford.

Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Meadows Park Health & Rehab.

Memorial donations are suggested to Meadow Park Health & Rehab Activities Fund, 119 Meadows Pkwy, Vidalia, GA 30474.
