Mr. John Cockman, age 64, of the Normantown Community, died Thursday, July 31, 2025, at his home after brief illness. He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, living in Savannah for several years before moving to Normantown in 1979. He was a cabinetmaker, working for several companies, including Lady Renee’s in Cedar Crossing. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and he enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette Holland Graham and Carrie Graham; and a brother, Steve Cockman.
He is survived by his wife Tammy Copeland Cockman of Normantown; one brother, Eddie Cockman and wife Judy of Stillson; one sister, Rita Cockman Cates and husband Billy Rubert of Eatonton; one aunt, Carol Holland; one uncle, Larry Cockman, both of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday morning, August 7th, 2025, at 11:00 at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Plowman officiating.
