Mr. Jimmy W. Kirby, Sr., age 77, of Oak Park, died Friday, November 5, 2021, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a brief battle with Covid. He was a native of Oak Park, living there most of his life and in Florida for twenty years. He was self-employed as an HVAC technician; and he enjoyed Indian artifacts, especially collecting arrowheads, and he was a Georgia football fan. He is preceded in death by his father, Hiram “Dick” Kirby and mother, Leona Bryson Lott; a granddaughter, Brittany Kirby; and two sisters, Carol Kirby and Louise Kirby Beecher.
His family includes his wife, Sandy Kirby of Oak Park; three children, Deana Steinbach of Belleview, Florida, Jimmy Kirby of Oak Park, and Leah Kirby of Ocala, Florida; two sisters, Patsy Kirby Fowler and Connie Kirby Phillips, both of Oak Park; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, November 10th, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Gaynor Ridgdill officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
