Mrs. Jill Claxton Reese, age 54, of the Kibbee Community, died Monday, February 16, 2026, at her home with her husband by her side. She was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Kibbee all of her life. She was a 1989 graduate of Montgomery County High School, a 1991 graduate of cosmetology school in Dublin, and a 2013 graduate of Southeastern Technical College earning a degree in Business. She worked ten years at Oxford Industries and retired after twenty-three years from Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia as legal coordinator and outsource manager. Jill said, “I walked in to building at Meadows full of strangers and left with another family”. She was a long-time member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Harvie Calhoun Claxton Warnock; father, Charles Franklin Claxton; sister, Kim Claxton Hall; and father-in-law, Charlie Reese.
Jill is survived by her husband of thirty-two years, Matt Reese of Kibbee; four children, Mikayla Reese Fike and husband Brandon of Vidalia, Madison Reese of East Dublin, Mathew Reese and husband Jake of Buchanan, and Jacob Reese of Kibbee; four grandchildren, Greysen, Remington, Weston, and Makenzie; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday afternoon, February 19, 2026, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Denton and Dr. Keith Tipton officiating. Interment will follow at Tarrytown City Cemetery.
