Jessie Nell (Boyd) Chambers

McNatt Fall Community,

Mrs. Jessie Nell Boyd Chambers, age 88, the McNatt Falls Community, died Saturday, April 13, 2019, at her home, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Cedar Crossing and lived in Toombs County most of her life.  She retired from Oxford Industries in Vidalia after more than forty years and was a member of the Smyrna United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, crocheting, needle point and knitting.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Chambers; a daughter, Jackie Nell Chambers Foskey; parents, James Harrison Boyd and Bertha Lou Wood Boyd; two sisters, Lula Belle Beasley and Jimmy Lou Tyson; and two brothers, Alfred Boyd and James Harrison Boyd.

Mrs. Chambers is survived by two children, Arthur H. “Buddy” Chambers and wife Jean of McNatt Falls, and Glenda NeeSmith and husband Ricky of the Gray’s Landing Community; one son-in-law, Greg Foskey and Weada of Vidalia; one brother, Dewy Boyd of Titusville, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Boyd of Toccoa, and Inez Chambers of McNatt Falls; three grandchildren, Jack Foskey, Russell Chambers and Katrina, all of McNatt Falls, and Nickie Reynolds and husband Stephen of Gray’s Landing; seven great-grandchildren, Victoria, Kyle, Carley, Dawson, Allie, Mackenzie, and Cohen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, April 15th at 4:00 p.m. in the Smyrna United Methodist Church with Elder Mack Chambers and Pastor Ron Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Monday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
