Jeff "Buck" Brown Obituary

Mr. Jeff “Buck” Brown, age 58, of Lyons, died Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his home following a battle with Glioblastoma. He was born on February 27, 1968 to the late Tommy Jackson Brown and Mary Willene Grice Brown in Candler County and was a 1987 graduate of Metter High School. He grew up in the Excelsior Community, lived in Cobbtown for many years before moving to Lyons three years ago. He had a twenty-seven year career logging, working with Randy Brown at RB’s Logging and G.W. Williford at Williford Forestry. He was a member of Reedy Creek Full Gospel Church in the Blue Ridge Community.

Jeff was a man who felt most at home outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the woods, fishing on the water, or working long days as a logger, he appreciated the simple and honest life that came with being close to nature. Hard work never scared him, and he took pride in providing for the people he loved.

At family gatherings, he was known as a jokester. If there was teasing, laughing, or a playful comment being made, chances are it came from him. He loved picking on everyone just enough to make them laugh, and his sense of humor was a big part of what made being around him so special.

More than anything, he loved his family. His greatest joy was his wife, Kelley, who stood by his side through all of life’s moments. Together they built a life full of love and memories. He was also incredibly proud of his children, Riley and Landon, who meant the world to him. Being their dad was one of the roles he cherished most.

He is survived by his wife, Kelley Carroll Brown of Lyons; two children, Landon O’Neal of Dublin and Riley Anne Brown of Ellabell; three bonus children, Delany Boyette and husband Dillon of Tarrytown, and Tyler Moore and Jordan Moore of Lyons; one sister, Ann Malphrus and husband Robin of Ridgeland, South Carolina; one brother, Chris Brown of Cobbtown; seven bonus grandchildren, two nieces, Ashleigh Smith and husband Chris of Grays, South Carolina, and Emily Meador and husband Daniel of Hardeeville, South Carolina; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning, March 18th, 2026, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor John Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Reedy Creek Full Gospel Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.
