Ms. Jean Meeks Williamson, age 82, of Cobbtown, died Saturday, September 12, 2020, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness. She was born in Lyons, grew up in Vidalia and lived her all her adult life in Metter and Cobbtown. She worked with Argo Manufacturing for many years and was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Meeks and Elizabeth Lumley Meeks; a granddaughter, Tiffany Williams; one brother, James Meeks; and one sister, Dolly Salters.
Mrs. Williamson is survived by two daughters, Paula Davis of the Normantown Community, and Sheila Miller of Vidalia; two sisters, Pauline Burke and Dot Shuman, both of Vidalia; one brother, Bob Meeks and wife Patsy of the Rackettown Community; three grandchildren, Lacy Myers and husband Ronnie of Reidsville, Brooke Hall and husband Colby of Lyons, and Cole Lamb and wife Montanna of Lake City, Florida; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:30 until 11:30.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, September 14th, at 12:00 noon in the Findley Cemetery near Oak Park with Reverend Trent Akins officiating.
