Jean Morris Obituary

Mrs. Jean Williamson Morris, age 91, of Higgston, died Sunday, December 8, 2024, at her home, following an extended illness.  She was a native of Montgomery County, living in Higgston most of her life, and she was a 1952 graduate of Kibbee High School.  She was a member of Higgston Baptist Church and served in every capacity in church, including singing in the choir, a member of the Women’s Missionary Union, the Sunrisers, Women’s Prayer Group, Sunday school teacher, and the love of children drew her to children’s and youth ministries. She was active in her grandchildren’s life, attended all events and sporting events in their lives.  She was also a member of the “round table” at Big Al’s.  She enjoyed traveling, cooking, crafting, sewing, quilting, and making flower arrangements.  Her parents, J.C. Williamson and Reba Braddy Williamson; one sister, Jearline Williamson Cummings and one brother, W.H. Williamson, precede her in death.

Her family includes her husband of seventy-one years, Robert “Buster” Morris, three children, Michael Morris and wife Ellen, Cathy Morris Braddy and husband Rickey, and Paula Morris Moxley and husband Eric, all of Higgston; one brother, Earl Williamson and wife Audrey of Vidalia; six grandchildren, Kristy Burns and husband Eric of Kibbee, Amanda Trice and husband Rusty of Macon, Ashley Morris of Higgston, Brandon Braddy and wife Denise of Grovetown, Matthew Moxley and wife Emily of Higgston, and Casey Grimsley and husband Justin of Mt. Vernon; ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning, December 12th, 2024, from 10:00 until just prior to the service at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Clarence Best officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Brandon Braddy, Eric Burns, Justin Grimsley, Matthew Moxley, Al Johnson, and Rusty Trice.

Honorary pallbearers are great-grandsons.

Flowers are accepted, or memorial donations are suggested to the Community Hospice Foundation, PO Box 2277, Vidalia, GA 30475.
