Mr. Jason Nelms, age 48, of Vidalia, died Thursday, May 29, 2025, at his home following a lifelong battle with Cerebral Palsy. He was born in Dublin and lived in Vidalia most of his life. He attended Toombs Service Center in Lyons and was always happy to see his friends and the staff. He enjoyed fishing, gospel and country music, being outside with nature, and eating with his family, and he loved Mac and Cheese. He also enjoyed going to his brother’s home and being outside on his porch. Jason had his own communication skills, including sticking his tongue out at his brother “Smokey J” when he was irritated. When Jason was a child, his Uncle Ricky gave him a small bear that he named Boo-Boo that he kept with him all the time. Jason will be remembered for his radiate and glowing smile. He is preceded in death by his mother, Annette Maddox Nelms.
His family includes his father, Hugh Adrian Nelms of Vidalia; three siblings, Shane Nelms of Alston, Adrian “Smokey J” Nelms and wife Ann, and Melody Ann Kilmer, all of Port Hadlock, Washington; ten nieces and nephews, four great-nieces and great nephews.
