Janet Leigh Oglesby Roland, age 63, of Lyons, died Thursday, October 23, 2025, at her home after a sudden illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived near Lyons all of her life. She was a 1982 graduate of Lyons Senior High School. Janet worked at Toombs County Manufacturing in Lyons, Oxford Industries, and worked at Stewart Quality Meats in Vidalia for twenty-seven years. She was Baptist by faith, and she enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls, fishing, flowers, her dogs, and animals.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee “Bobby” Oglesby and Barbara Ann Williamson Oglesby; two sisters, Debbie Sue Oglesby Mosley and Veronica Ann Oglesby Peebles Lanigan; and a niece, Christina Wilcher.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-nine years, Wayne Roland; one brother, Robbie Oglesby; one aunt, Mary Oglesby Simmons; all of Lyons; one uncle, John Oglesby of Alston; eight nieces and nephews, Jerry Peebles, Stacy Morris, Timmy Pittman, Dewayne Peebles, Robbie Oglesby, Susan Michael, Misty Oglesby, and William Mosley; six great-nieces and seven great-nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon, October 25th, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Toole officiating. Interment will follow at Williamson Cemetery in Rackettown.
