Jane Kersey, 85 of Orlando, Florida, passed away on July 6, 2021. She was born in Montgomery County on May 29, 1936. Jane was the oldest of nine children and had a younger twin. Her father was a hard working farmer and raised Jane as a true southern lady. Jane was married to her beloved husband, Emory Eugene Kersey for fifty-three years. A career Air Force wife, Jane and Emory loved to travel. They visited 49 of the 50 United States and lived in the Philippines for two years. Jane retired as a nursing aide after twenty-five years of helping others. She was Southern Baptist by her faith and very active at the Shenandoah Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida for many years. An avid gardener, Jane liked to see flowers and her family grow before her eyes. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emory Kersey; her son, Robert Kersey; her daughter-in-law, Tita Kersey, her sister and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Niell and her husband Bill; her son, Jimmie Kersey; her sister, Shirley Brinson; her brothers, J. B. Loyd, Frank Loyd and Roy Loyd; her grandchildren, Billy Niell and Troy Niell; and her great-grandchildren, Riley Niell and Liam Niell.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, July 9th, at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Cemetery with Pastor BL Horne officiating.
