Lyons,
Mr. James L. McLain, age 77, of the Blue Ridge Community, Lyons, died Sunday, August 5, 2018, at his home, after an extended illness. He was a native of Toombs County and lived in Blue Ridge most of his life. James was a 1958 graduate of Lyons High School. He was a farmer, and owned and operated McLain Farms for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Victorine Mosley McLain; and a brother, Raymond McLain.
Mr. McLain is survived by his wife, Betty Hall McLain of Blue Ridge; three sons, Brett McLain and wife Kim of Lyons, Troy McLain and wife Jane of Alpharetta, and Rusty McLain of Lyons; five grandchildren, Haley McLain, Christian McLain, Chase McLain, Ella McLain and Allison McLain; one brother, William McLain and wife Jackie of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Marty McLain and Pastor Dannie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00.
