Mr. James Albert Pollett, age 82, of Uvalda, died Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, following an extended illness. He was a native of Montgomery County, living in Uvalda and Long Pond Community most of his life. He worked with the Montgomery County Road Department for twenty years and was Pentecostal by faith. Mr. Pollett enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, making boat paddles, and he was a master pop whip maker. He is preceded in death by his wife, of fifty-eight years, Maxine W. Conner Pollett; parents, Marvin Pollett and Bell Sanders Pollett; one sister, Leler Mae Pollett Glisson; and a nephew, Glen Glisson.
His family includes two children, James Marvin Pollett of Cedar Crossing, and Tina Pollett Miller and husband Franklin Lance Miller of the Charlotteville Community.
A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Dead River Cemetery with Ken Garrett officiating.
