Vidalia,

Mr. James “Ronnie” Paradice, age 68, of Vidalia, died Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness. He was a native of Lyons, grew up in Dublin, graduated from Dublin High School in 1968, attended Georgia Southern College, and moved to Vidalia in 1974. He was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas before being sent to West Berlin to be a part of the armored tank division. Ronnie was also a sharpshooter and received the National Defense Service Medal and Army Occupation Medal. He worked for Piggly Wiggly Southern for twenty-one years, and managed a heavy equipment business until he retired in 2006. He was a member of Ruth’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Ronnie was an outdoorsman, craftsman, could fix anything, and loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Louise Paradice; maternal grandparents, Jim and Edna Hightower; paternal grandparents, Robert Marian and Nettie Mosley Paradice; and his best friends, “Major”, “Rocky”, and “Bear”.

Mr. Paradice is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Madonna Holt Paradice of Vidalia; two sons, Heath Paradice of Vidalia and Josh Paradice of San Jose, California; one sister, Diane Mobley and husband Billy of Vidalia; one nephew, Chess Mobley and wife Beth of Vidalia; one niece, Ashley Smith and husband Brandon of Statesboro; great nephews, Tanner Mobley and Lawson Mobley of Vidalia; and the family pet. “Dillon”.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, June 10th at 3:00 p.m. at his home, 201 Paradice Circle in Vidalia, with Pastor Charles Carter officiating. Burial will follow at his home after the service with Military Honors.
