Obituary

Mr. James Jeremiah Odom, Sr. age, 66, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Glenwood Healthcare following an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, and lived in Johnson Corner all of his life.  He was a 1974 graduate of Toombs Central School, and was an ironworker, truck driver, and more recently worked at Vidalia Airport.  He was Baptist by faith.  He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, talking on the CB Radio, and his handle was Wildflower.  Also, he was an outdoor enthusiast, attending mud bogging, truck and tractor pulls, boat races, and car shows.  Preceding him in death was a grandson, Klaytyn Michael Hutcheson; parents, James Richard Odom and Eunice Elizabeth Pittman Odom; and brother, Harold Odom.

His family includes two children, James Jeremiah Odom, Jr. and Kimberly Moore of Higgston, and Sara Hutcheson and husband Thomas of Milledgeville; two grandchildren, James Richard Odom and Lizzy Hutcheson; one sister, Shonda Williamson of Lyons; and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held later.
