James Steven Lucas

James Steven "Steve" Lucas, of Vidalia, passed away on March 5, 2021, at the age of 71. Steve was a native Atlantan. He spent his high school years with his family in South Africa, a time he would speak about with great fondness. Upon his return, he attended the University of Georgia.

Steve worked in the music industry for over 25 years including for Turtles, Peaches Records, and Tapes, and finally Coconuts in the role of opening new area stores and managing operations. Later, Steve was a residential real estate appraiser for Scholfield & Associates until he retired.

Steve was passionate about all music and was also an avid reader of history, current events, and politics. He was known to enjoy a round of golf regularly as well as spirited debates with friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Smith Lucas, Mary Helen Miles Lane, and his brother John Barry Lucas.

He is survived by his son Miles Christian Lucas of Decatur, and sister, Diane Lucas Edge of Lyons, nephews, and cousins.
