Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Harrelson Brown, age 85, of the Johnson Corner Community, died Friday, February 21, 2025, on her birthday, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia. She was a native of Telfair County, moving to Perry in 1956, and she had made Toombs County and Lyons home since 1960. She and her late husband were owners of Toombs Auto Parts for fifty-eight years. She was a long-time former member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons and was a current member of Edmond Chapel Church of God in Johnson Corner. She enjoyed flowers, sewing, gardening, and feeding her backyard birds. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Thomas Franklin Brown; parents, Henry H. Harrelson and Elsie Rainey Harrelson; one sister, Betty Harrelson Polk; and three brothers, Eugene Harrelson, Bradley Harrelson, and Robert Harrelson.
Her family includes two children, Brenda Brown Lafferty and husband David of Bluffton, South Carolina, and Melody Brown Brogdon and husband Frederick of Lyons; bonus daughter, Kristi Sikes of Lyons; three grandchildren, Amanda Horne Ross and Jason Price of Bluffton, Calista Brogdon McClellan and husband Carson of Brooklet, and Chason Brogdon and fiancé Kaitlyn Allen of Lincolnton; three great-grandchildren, Bradley Denmark, Elizabeth Ross, and Daxton McClellan; four sisters, Shirley Nobles and husband Willie of McRae-Helena, Dena Howell of Eastman, Verna Rivers of Bradenton, Florida, and Helen Nunn and John Bass of Alamo.
The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, February 23rd, 2025, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Pittman officiating. A private burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
