Mr. Jack E. Gibson, age 79, of Vidalia, died Sunday, June 29, 2025, at his home. He was a native of Swainsboro and as a child moved to Vidalia where he lived the rest of his life. He was a 1963 graduate of Vidalia High School, a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, and in 1976, earned his license as a real estate appraiser. Jack was an outdoorsman; he enjoyed fishing with his buddies at the Ohoopee River, camping, deer, turkey and dove hunting, deep sea fishing, and he was an awesome cook. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Jacqueline McLain; and parents, Jack E. Gibson and Louise Mason Gibson.
His family includes his wife of forty years, Paula N. Gibson; two children, Cynthia Gibson McLain and husband Jeff, all of Vidalia, and Alli J. Harris and husband Buddy of Cocoa, Florida; five grandchildren, Jeffery McLain, Eryn McLain and fiancé Dawson Jones, Shelby J. Coursey, Gibson J. Harris and Sophia J. Harris; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Gibson Sims and husband Doug of Aurora, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a service at a later date.
