Hubert Harry Wood

Mr. Hubert Harry Wood, age 71, of Cedar Crossing, died Friday, September 27, 2024, at the family home as a result of Hurricane Helene.  He was a native of Toombs County and lived in Cedar Crossing all of his life.  He was a farmer, mechanic, and worked on small engines. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering, and spending time with his family.  He was a sweet and kind-hearted man who would do anything for anyone.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Alton Wood and Mary Alice McCumbers Wood; and three brothers, Ricky Wood and two infant brothers.

His family includes one daughter, Stephanie W. Williamson and husband Kenny of Vidalia; three grandchildren, Danny Aspinwall and Emily Thigpen of Brantley County, Gerald “Dean” Aspinwall and Eileen Pearce of Brunswick, and Daisy Bray of Lyons; ten great-grandchildren, two nephews, Justin and Noah; and one niece, Christy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, January 18th at 11:00 at Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Crossing Cemetery.
