Lyons,
Mr. Henry Fred Zeigler II, age 69, of Lyons, died Friday, January 18, 2019, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a brief illness. He was born May 13, 1949 and adopted by the late Dr. and Mrs. Frank Loland Zeigler. He was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, and was a 1967 graduate of Vidalia High School. Fred attended South Georgia College in Douglas and Darton State College in Albany. He was employed by the Toombs County Commission, Sullivan Environmental, and currently worked for the Tattnall County Commission. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with his family and friends. Fred had a love of reading, especially historical novels. Also, Fred developed an enthusiasm for the culinary arts. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Andrew Hodges and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlton Beecham Holmes.
Fred is survived by his wife of forty years, Nancy O’Neal Zeigler; four daughters, Angie Michelle Sarno and husband Josh of Suwanee, Stephaney Lynn Clark and husband Clay of Vidalia, Lea Zeigler Anderson and husband Matt of Vidalia, and Missy Ann Hagan and husband Lance of Statesboro; one sister, Susan Zeigler Turner of Savannah; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Monday, January 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Proctor Chambless and Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Zeigler Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
