Mr. Harold W. Geiger, age 81, of the Cedar Crossing Community, died Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dublin after an extended illness. He was a native of Soperton, living in Savannah many years before moving to Cedar Crossing in the late 1980’s. He worked as a correctional officer, but most of his life as a self-employed truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the Cedar Crossing Church of God. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Geiger; parents, Clare Dee Geiger and Doris Geiger; and four siblings, Carl Geiger, Perry Geiger, Mack Geiger, and Marschell Geiger.
His family includes his wife, Edith Algeriea Conner Geiger of Cedar Crossing; three daughters, Angela Clay of Pooler, Christy Robertson of Hawaii, and Jan Wilson of Statesboro; and two stepsons, Allen Baron Matthews and Raymond Brian Matthews.
The funeral service will be Monday, August 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar Crossing Church of God with Pastor Steven Toole officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends at the family’s home beginning at 1:00 on Sunday afternoon.
