Mrs. Gloria J. Moxley, age 80, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at her son’s home after a brief illness. She was a native of Richmond County, Georgia, and at an early age, she and her family moved to Toombs County where she lived the rest of her life. She was a 1963 graduate of Vidalia High School and was a member of Bible Baptist Church near Vidalia. Mrs. Moxley and her late husband were owners of T&G Plumbing Supply in Vidalia which they operated many years. Earlier in life, she was an aerobics instructor and was the owner of Odyssey in Vidalia. She enjoyed yard work, her many dogs, especially her dog Peanut that she had now, and going on “adventures” with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tillman Moxley; son, Todd Moxley; parents, Lester Horace Gaskill, Sr. and Marian Elizabeth Janson Gaskill; and three siblings, Lester Horace “Buck” Gaskill, Jr., Laura Lee Gaskill Gay, and Linda Gaskill.
She is survived by two children, Chess Moxley and wife Gayle of Vidalia, Sonya Moxley Powell and husband Nathan of Lyons; seven grandchildren, Chris Phillips and wife Brooke of Vidalia, Michael Phillips of Uvalda, Brittany Moxley McIntyre and husband Andrew, Josh Moxley and wife Caitlin, all of Vidalia, Caleb Moxley and wife Amber of Statesboro, Mason Moxley and wife Tess of Vidalia, and Nathan Powell of Lyons; eight great-grandchildren, a great-grandson to be born in March; three siblings, Carl Gaskill, Nina Gaskill Mills, and Laverne Gaskill, all of Richmond County; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, November 23rd from 6:00 until 8:00.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday morning, November 24th, 2025, at 11:00 at Moxley Cemetery with Reverend Joe Siman officiating.
