Mr. Glenwood L. Fish, Jr., age 63, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at his home after an extended illness. He was a native of Clinton, Massachusetts, but made Vidalia his home in 1990. He was a mechanic working for Mitchell Construction in Vidalia, Tide Water in Hazlehurst, and most recently, CLT Construction in Claxton. He was a very talented mechanic and used his talent as a way to help others. He had a huge heart and was always working on and repairing vehicles of anyone that needed his help. Glenwood was a regular at Roxy’s Diner where he loved to sit, drink coffee and socialize. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Brannan Fish: and father, Glenwood L. Fish, Sr.
His family includes his mother, Christine Wilson Fish Goodwin and husband Donald of Dunlap, Tennessee; one daughter, Frances Ewing and husband Mike of Hazlehurst; one brother, Leeman H. Fish and wife Sisha of Benton, Kentucky; one stepsister; four step-brothers; four grandchildren, Michael Ewing and wife Jada of Albany, Minnesota, Kristopher Ewing and wife Tiffanie, Cody Ewing and wife Katelyn and Breayla Ewing, all of Hazlehurst; four great-grandchildren, River Ewing and Ryder Ewing, both of Albany, Minnesota, and Jonathan Ewing and Jackson Ewing, both of Hazlehurst; and several nieces and nephews including niece, Danielle Fish of Kathleen, Georgia and nephew Andrew Fish of Bell City, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, January 18th, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Rountree officiating. After the memorial service, the family will gather at the home of Frances Ewing, 94 Rentz Circle, Hazlehurst, GA 31539.
