Mrs. Glenda Register August, age 83, of Vidalia, died Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia. She was a native of Toombs County and a 1961 graduate of Vidalia High School. She lived in Vidalia until moving to Bibb County in 1986, returning to Vidalia in 2010. She was a talented licensed cosmetologist, earning numerous awards while in cosmetology school, and she worked in Vidalia and Soperton as a hairdresser. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education, retiring after many years as a vocational instructor at the Macon Youth Detention Center. She was a member of Northridge Baptist Church in Macon and a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Vidalia. She enjoyed shopping, music and dancing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. August, Sr.; son, Grahl Moxley; parents, Watson Leroy Register and Mattie Sue Cowart Register; and a brother, Grahl Register.
Mrs. August is survived by one daughter, Carla Moxley Caputi of Lake Park, Georgia; one granddaughter, Leslie Van Kirk Culpepper and husband Matthew; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Amelia, and Charlotte Culpepper, all of Nashville, Georgia; and several cousins.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday afternoon, February 10th, 2026, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Randy McDuffie officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
