Ms. Geraldine Jarriel “Jeri” Johnson, age 63, of the Blue Ridge Community, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021, in Meadows Health in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County, living in Blue Ridge most of her life, and in Micro, North Carolina, and Jacksonville, Florida for many years. She was Photo Lab Manager at Winn Dixie in Vidalia for several years. Jeri was a member of East Gordon Street Baptist Church, and attended First Baptist Church of Vidalia with her family. She collected music, and she loved animals, especially dogs, cats and rabbits.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Silas Edenfield; father, Archie Jarriel; mother, Verna Lou Moore Jarriel Blalock; stepfather, William Blalock; and a sister, Bernadine “Bernie” White.
Survivors include two children, Archie Edenfield and wife Jessica of Blue Ridge, and Amber Meeks and husband Dustin of Cedar Crossing; one sister, Kathy Steransky and husband Bob; brother-in-law, Johnny White, all of Blue Ridge; five grandchildren, Michael Edenfield, Gideon Edenfield, Jason Edenfield, Adelaide Meeks and Alaric Meeks; three nieces, Jeanna White, Tammy Brusie and Nikki Mingledorff.
A graveside memorial will be held Saturday, January 30th, at 2:00 p.m. at Old Reedy Cemetery, Hwy 86 near Jarahn Collins Road, Lyons..
