Mr. Geno Reynolds, age 80, of Lyons, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after a brief battle with Covid. He was born January 5, 1941, in Fairfield County, South Carolina to the late John Grady Reynolds, Sr. and Beatrice Elizabeth Davis Reynolds. Geno was a graduate of Winnsboro High School in Winnsboro, South Carolina, and was a U.S. Army veteran. He lived in Hartsfield, South Carolina before moving to Lyons in 1977. He was an electrician for forty years, retiring in 2002 from I.B.E.W. Local #508, at Edwin I. Hatch Plant. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Lyons. He coached recreational baseball, football, and basketball for many years, coaching several local championships.
His family includes three sons, Shane Reynolds of Columbia, South Carolina, Chris Reynolds of Charleston, South Carolina, and Brandon Reynolds and wife Erika of Blackshear; one daughter, Katie Moore and husband Scott of Vidalia; five grandchildren, Brittney Reynolds, Mikell Clark, Michael Reynolds, Syrena Reynolds, and Saylor Reynolds; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Reynolds Roush of Swansea, South Carolina; one brother, John Grady Reynolds, Jr. and wife Lorna of Chimney Rock, North Carolina; two nephews and one niece.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Sunday, September 5th, at 2:00 p.m. at Booster Stadium in Lyons with Pastor Robbie Gill officiating. Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.
