Gail (Powell) Morris

Ms. Gail Powell Morris, age 59, of Lyons, died Thursday, October 15, 2020, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.  She was a native of Toombs County and was a 1979 graduate of Lyons Senior High School.  She retired from the Georgia Learning Center.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church and attended East Gordon Street Baptist Church in Lyons.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis Powell.

Ms. Morris is survived by two daughters, Ashley B. Barfield and husband Trippe of Eatonton, and Kristen L. Brewer and husband Trey of Lyons; her mother, Mae Roy Scott Powell of Lyons; three grandchildren, Kylie Barfield, Jackson Barfield and Drayke Brewer; one sister, Sue Barker and husband Tommy of Vidalia; one nephew, Clay Barker and wife Abbie; and one niece Nikki Bailey and husband Anthony.

A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, October 18th, at 3:00 p.m. in the Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Bruce Conner officiating.
