Franklin "Buck" McDougald

Mr. Franklin “Buck” McDougald, age 85, of Vidalia, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, after a brief illness.  He was born in Bacon County, grew up in Montgomery County, and was a 1951 graduate of Mt. Vernon-Ailey High.  He lived in Vidalia most of his life and retired from Oxford Industries after thirty-five years.  Buck enjoyed gardening and watching the Braves and Falcons.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ollie Tanner McDougald; one sister, Mary Lucille Wilson; and two brothers, Leroy “Buddy” McDougald and James Earl “Jimmy” McDougald.

Mr. McDougald is survived by two sisters, Jean McDougald Holton of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Margaret McDougald Pepe of Snellville; one niece, Debra Falank and husband Kevin of Charlotte; and two nephews, Eric Pepe and wife Jan and Jason Pepe and wife Shannon, all of Lawrenceville.

A graveside funeral service will Friday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Paul Carlson officiating.
