Mr. Franklin Dennis “Frank” Watson, Jr., age 66, of Lyons, died Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after a brief illness. He was a native of Jacksonville, Florida and lived there until moving to the McNatt Falls Community in the mid 1970s. He was a 1976 graduate of Toombs Central School, and before becoming disabled, he was a truck driver for many years. He was U.S. Marine veteran and was Baptist by faith. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar, flower gardening, yard work, and had a Godly love for all children. He is preceded in death by his father, Franklin Dennis Watson, Sr.; sister, Donna Ann Watson Roberson; and special grandmother, Anna Johnson Switzer.
His family includes twin sons, Frank Watson III and Jesse Watson of Lyons; two daughters, Olivia Watson of Vidalia and Donna Watson of Santa Claus; mother, Olivia Watson Sills of Lyons; three sisters, Paula Watson and Joe Chambless of Vidalia, Robin Watson Crabb and husband Scott, and Lisa Watson Mead and husband Paul, all of Lyons; one brother, Tim Watson and wife Dorinda of Lyons; three grandchildren, Anslee Elizabeth Goodwin, Lucas Clayton Goodwin, and Addison Grace Patrick; several nieces and nephews; and bonus children, Demeria Owens and Taylor Carter.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home of Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Wednesday morning, August 28th, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Tom Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Frank Watson III, Jesse Watson, David Evans, Jason Beecher, Blake Roberson, and Andrew Mead.
