Mrs. Frankie "Fran" Phillips Sharpe, age 87, of Vidalia, died Monday, February 9, 2026, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia following a brief illness. She was a native of Treutlen County and was a graduate of Soperton High School, Class of 1957.
She moved to Liberty County in 1986 and then to Vidalia in 2019. She retired after 20 years from International Paper. She was a member of Midway Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and served on various church committees prior to moving to Vidalia. She enjoyed reading and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Preceding her in death was her husband, John E. Sharpe; and her parents, Ethes “Dank” Phillips and Dorothy “Dot” Claxton Phillips.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Wrenn of Vidalia; two stepdaughters, Tracie Sharpe of Vidalia, and Pennie (Jay) Cobb of Jacksonville, Florida; three grandchildren, Madison Henline of Garfield, Texas, Kayla Cobb of New York City, New York, and William Cobb of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Wayne Phillips; one niece, Paige (Matthew) Rainey; one nephew, Keith (Viktoria) Phillips; one grandnephew, Max Avila and two grandnieces, Aubrey Phillips and Adalynn Phillips, all of Ft. Myers, Florida.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Oaks Bethany Assisted Living and the staff at Community Hospice for their care. The family would also like to send a special thank you to Mrs. Glenda Green, who sat with Mrs. Sharpe for many months.
There will be no service.
