Mr. Frank Matthew Landrum, age 70, of Lyons, died Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons after an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Paulding County and a 1971 graduate of Cartersville High School. In 1977, he graduated from Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia, with a mechanical engineering degree. He moved to Vidalia in 1977 and accepted a job at Georgia Power where he worked for ten years. In 1986, he married the love of his life, Rossie. He would go on to work for the City of Vidalia for twenty-seven years, and later, with Trane for eight years. He was a member of Lyons First Baptist Church. Frank loved his family and friends and was always looking for ways to encourage and educate them. He spent his free time reading and working on various projects, often including his children and grandchildren in those projects. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ishmael and Jessie Landrum of Cartersville, Georgia.
His family includes his wife of thirty-seven years, Rossie Landrum; children, William Herndon, Sharon Herndon, Linda Maria Landrum, and Adrianne Kerr and husband Justin Kerr, all of Lyons; grandchildren, Ryan Herndon, Evan Herndon, Ian Kerr and Hadley Kerr, all of Lyons; honorary grandchildren, Bricyn, Shanne and Rilyn Fitzgerald, all of Lyons; siblings, Andre Landrum and wife Louise of Dallas, Georgia, Lenore Lowery of Cartersville, and Terry Landrum and wife Vickie of Ackworth; honorary friend, Linda Fountain of Savannah; and various other relatives.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00.
The funeral service will be Saturday morning, February 10th at 11:00 in the chapel Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Mitch Bellflower and Reverend Elzie Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Crest Cemetery of Vidalia.
