Frances Craft

Mrs. Frances Craft, age 90, of Uvalda, died Monday, March 23, 2020, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia, after an extended illness.  She was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Toombs County most of her life.  She was a licensed practical nurse, working at Gross-Mercer Hospital in Vidalia, Aiken-McArthur Hospital in Lyons and retiring with Doctors Barfield and Merritt.  She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons and enjoyed fishing, reading and walking.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Felton “Felt” Craft; two children Tabbie Cecilia Craft and an infant child; grandson, Chris Craft’ great-grandson, Zachary Chambers; parents, James Cleveland Cartrette and Nellie Elizabeth Booth Cartrette; one sister, Sarah Nell Gray; and one brother, James Cleveland Cartrette, Jr.

Mrs. Craft is survived by two children, Sue Chambers and husband Ronnie of Uvalda, and Greg Craft of the Sharp Spur Community; one sister, Sandra Adams of Lyons; four grandchildren, Kim Craft Emanuelson and husband Karl of Vidalia, Brian Chambers and wife Billie and Shannon Chambers and wife January, all of Uvalda, and Chad Craft of Vidalia; one brother-in-law, Hulon Craft of Texas; her former granddaughter-in-law, Tina Chambers of the South Thompson Community; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held Friday, March 27th, at 3:00 p.m. in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Michael Plowman officiating.
