Vidalia,
Mrs. Florence Trautz, age 88, of Vidalia, died Thursday, January 24, 2019, in Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation in Vidalia, after an extended illness. She was born in Newark, New Jersey, living in Maplewood, New Jersey for many years, before moving to Vidalia in 1966. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, gardening, and baking. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vidalia, the Women’s Guild, and the Rosary Group. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, Frank Robert Trautz; parents, Settimio Lanza and Mary Strivelli Lanza; and a sister, Margie.
Mrs. Trautz is survived by three children, Wayne Trautz, Cheryl Williams and husband Donnie, all of Vidalia, and Scott Trautz and wife Jan of Brunswick; former daughter-in-law, Becky Fountain of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, Jeremy Williams, Brad Williams, Dustin Trautz, Hayley Smith, Erick Trautz, and Chelsea Mussara; seven great-grandchildren; and her caregivers Jackie Burns, Floanita Ashley, Pearlene Brown, and Kim Lawson.
The funeral Mass will be Monday, January 28th at 3:00 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Ben Dallas and Deacon Joe Claroni officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 7:30 with a Rosary Vigil to follow.
