Flora (Carpenter) Moseley

Mrs. Flora Carpenter Moseley, age 88, of Hazlehurst, died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.  She was a native of the McGregor Community in Montgomery County and a 1952 graduate of Montgomery County High School.  She lived in Vidalia for seven years before moving to Hazlehurst in 1964.  She worked at Oxford Industries in Vidalia for several years and later retired from the Jeff Davis County Board of Education where she worked as a paraprofessional for thirty years.  Flora was a member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst, and she enjoyed cooking, baking and spoiling her grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Hamp Hobson Carpenter and Marie Murphy Carpenter; two brothers, James Carpenter and Rod Carpenter; and two sisters, Mary Carpenter Clifton and Ruth Carpenter Wood.

Her family includes her husband of sixty-six years, Bobby Moseley; two children, Todd Moseley and Sandy Moseley Colson and Cody White, all of Hazlehurst; five grandchildren, Brent Moseley and wife Michelle of Hahira, Sierra Lewis and husband Andrew of Baxley, Marybeth Luke and husband Jordan of Douglas, Will Moseley and Ryleigh Colter, and Marlee Colson, all of Hazlehurst; two great-grandchildren, Colton Moseley and Kimberlynn Lewis; and special friend and caregiver, Myra Rentz of Hazlehurst.

The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, November 23rd, at 3:00 at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with Pastor Brad Waters and Reverend Robert Wigley officiating.  Burial will follow at Moseley Cemetery near Uvalda.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until just prior to the service.
