Faye Rustin Obituary

Mrs. Ella “Faye” Rustin, age 76, of the Center Community, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia following an extended illness. Born in the New Branch Community on February 20, 1950, on the family farm, Faye was the youngest of the children of Charlie Hugh Rustin and Lillian Rollins Rustin. She was a 1968 graduate of Toombs Central School and 1969 graduate of Swainsboro Technical School with a Business Degree. She attended Edmond Chapel Church of God. She was the office manager for Kaiser Agricultural in Lyons from 1969 until 1979, working closely with Hardy Thomas and Toby Todd. Following her departure from Kaiser, Faye traveled to several nuclear plants and construction sites to work as a contracted secretary. She worked and lived in Oswego, New York, Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, Illinois, West Palm, Beach, Florida, to list a few. In 1985, she and her husband, Andy Logan, relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where she was owner/operator of Active Professionals, Inc., a job placement company. In 1999, Faye opposed the incumbent for Jacksonville City Council, her first venture into politics, winning Council at-Large, a city wide seat. She went to serve two 4 year terms. In 2010, Faye and Andy moved to Villa Rica, Georgia to become the fulltime nana and papa to their grandchildren. In 2017, they returned to Toombs County to the Center Community to the McDonald Farm to enjoy the roots of her younger days until their deaths.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Andrew “Andy” Logan; siblings, Norma Jean Rustin Wilson, Bobbie Nell Rustin Brantley, Mary Ellen Rustin, Frances “Fran” Rustin Harden, and Hugh Charles Rustin; three nephews, Charles Eddy Wilson, Bernard Alan Harden, and Lyndon D. Brantley.

Mrs. Rustin is survived by a sister, Susan “Sue” Rustin Grisham, sister-in-law, Christine “Chris” Rustin, both of Santa Claus; nephews, Hugh Brantley and Greg Brantley of Hazlehurst, Rod Harden of Lyons, Dan Rustin of Mableton, Ardie Wright and Rustin “Rusty” Wright of Lyons, and Jeff E. Wright of Register; nieces, Lisa Lemley of Cleveland, Tennessee, Denise Harden Bacon of Lyons, Jenny Harden of Santa Claus and Melanie Harden McLemore of Higgston/Beaufort, South Carolina; stepdaughter, Andrea Bossie and husband Andrew, grandchildren, Gabriele, Phillip, and Stephen Bossie of Villa Rica; two special first cousins, Elva Moore and Debra Chambers, and numerous great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, July 8th, 2026, at 11:00 at Edmond Chapel Church of God with Pastor Nathan Pittman officiating. Interment will follow at Hardens Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Ardie Wright, Jeff Wright, Rustin Wright, Dan Rustin, Rod Harden, and Greg Brantley.

Honorary pallbearers are Brenda Currie, Lucy Moody, Jean Mitchell, Sherry Jenkins, Mollie Hobbs, Ricky Partin, Debra and “Duck” Chambers, Johnny and Jan Beasley, Ladies of Edmond Chapel, Sharon and Frank Gorley, Tommy and Becky Rollins, and Toby Todd.
