Mrs. Fay Sharpe Collins, age 90, of Orlando, Florida, died Friday, November 12, 2021, at Palm Garden of Orlando after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County, living in England and Miami for many years, and in Orlando since 1969. She retired from the Orange County School System in Orlando as a school bus driver, and was a member of Conway Baptist Church in Orlando. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ross E. Collins; two daughters, Belinda Strickland and Marie Napier; son-in-law, Carl Ray; parents, Warren A. Sharpe and Leona Lewis Sharpe; and brother, Harold “Buddy” Sharpe.
Her family includes one daughter, Fay Ray of Orlando; two sons, Larry Strickland of Old Town, Florida, and Ross Collins, Jr. and wife Virginia of Orlando; one sister, Louise Blair of Normantown; two brothers, James Sharpe of Tarrytown, and Howell Sharpe and wife Kathy of Normantown; one sister-in-law, Carol Sharpe of Lyons; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 17th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
