Mrs. Evelyn Jarriel Bryant, age 95, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, at home, after a brief illness.  She was born in Tattnall County and resided in Lyons most of her life.  She was a house wife most of her life having worked at Lyons Manufacturing and Oxford Industries in Lyons for many years.  She was a member of East Gordon Baptist Church in Lyons.  She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Sallie Bazemore Jarriel of Collins, her husband of thirty-six years, Roy Edward Bryant; son, Kenny Bryant; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys Bryant Rolen and husband Joe, and Sallie Mae Newsome husband Jerry; one son-in-law, Maurice Durrence, two granddaughters, two grandsons, all of Lyons; five brothers Manson Jarriel, George Jarriel, Corbett Jarriel, Claude Jarriel, and Watson Jarriel, six sisters, Zelma Sikes, Edna Warren, Ruby Blocker, Roxie Strickland, Corine Lynn, and Bonnie Alexander.

Mrs. Bryant is survived by two daughters, Lorine Durrence and Karen Anderson and husband Phillip; one son, Kenneth “Buck” Bryant and wife Jean of Lyons, two daughters-in-law, Janet Bryant and Louise Newsome, all of Lyons, twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 28th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Lanson Newsome and Reverend Bruce Conner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
