Mr. Eustace Parker Ford, age 77, of the Ohoopee Community, died Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, following a brief illness. He was a native of Effingham County and was a 1965 graduate of Effingham County High School. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Germany and was manager of the artillery closet. Following his military service, Eustace was a firefighter at the Garden City Fire Department and later worked at Union Camp in Savannah. He moved to Vidalia in 1974 to work at Coastal Supply, and was sales manager for thirteen stores. Later, Eustace founded Southeastern Mechanical Equipment and operated it for thirteen years. For the past fifteen years, he has been a salesman at Paul Thigpen Chevrolet GMC in Vidalia. He was a member of Vidalia Cornerstone Church. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, dancing, working, holidays, and spending time with his family and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Alton Eustace Ford and Myrtice Elizabeth McLeod Ford.
His family includes his wife of fifty-six years, Nancy Hattrich Ford of Ohoopee; three children, Tony Ford and wife Amber of Higgston, Stephanie Ford Jones and husband Craig of Vidalia, and Daniel Ford and wife Tara of Oak Park; two brothers, Dale Ford of Clyo, and Doug Ford and wife Janice of Springfield; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Winge and wife Abby, Anslie Mead, Jessie Cason and husband Mel, Jackson Jones and fiancé Spencer, Cade Jones, Grayson Ford, Billie Parker Ford, Hayden Ford, and Blaine Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Duke Mead and Parker Cason; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024, at Vidalia Cornerstone Church from 11:00 until just prior to the service at 1:00. Reverend Jose Caraballo will officiate. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
Pallbearers are Jackson Jones, Cade Jones, Jeremy Winge, Jason Ford, Jared Rahn, Dustin Ford, and Jake Ford.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff at Paul Thigpen Chevrolet GMC.
