Etherine "Renee" Lollis Obituary

Mrs. Etherine “Renee” Wiggins Lollis, age 100, of Pembroke, died Monday, June 23, 2026, at her home following an extended illness. She grew up near Oak Park and was a 1941 graduate of Oak Park High School. She was a graduate of Georgia Technical Secretarial School in Atlanta. She moved to Savannah and while working at the shipyards there, she attended St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing School, graduating in 1948, and became a registered nurse. In 1948, she married her husband and they lived in Savannah and Guyton for many years. She worked as a pediatric nurse most of her career with Doctors Mazo, Brenna, and Shepard at Medical Arts. They retired to Lake Sinclair where they lived for twenty years, then returned to Oak Park for a few years before moving to Pembroke in 2018. She was a member of Marietta Free Will Baptist Church in Toombs County, and she enjoyed yard work, sewing, fishing, and cooking.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Glenn Lollis; two grandchildren, Michael Kirby and Carolyn Rahn; parents, Leon McKinley Wiggins and Lanie Brinson Joiner Wiggins; and five siblings, Eva “Merk” Wiggins Wilkes, Gene Talmadge “Big G.” Wiggins, Larry Ronald “Ronnie” Wiggins, Mary Carolyn Wiggins Demolfetto, and Faye Wiggins Gibbs.

Mrs. Lollis is survived by five daughters, Meri Lynn Newstead of Townsend, Kaye Rowan and husband Bobby of Bluffton, South Carolina, Glenda Pass of Pembroke, Janis Henderson of Claremont, Oklahoma, and Bonnie Parker and husband Michael of Hiwassee; fifteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilcox County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 until just prior to the service.
