Ellen (Whipple) Bankston

Elllen Whipple Bankston the daughter of Lucian H. Whipple and Fostelle Kennedy Whipple was born in Reidsville, Georgia on February 6, 1939 and passed away in North Little Rock, Arkansas on February 12, 2022 at the age of 83 years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs. She enjoyed playing bridge and was active in Bible Study at her church. She was a member of P.E.O. a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women: educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lucian and Fostelle Whipple. Survivors are her husband William S. (Bill) Bankston, son William Spencer Bankston of Carmel, Indiana and daughter Leslie Prusi and husband Alex of Amelia Island, Florida, four grandchildren Ellen White, Caroline Bankston, William Bankston III and Annmaire Bankston other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service was held in the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs on Friday, February 18, 2022. at 10:00 AM by Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating.

A graveside memorial service will be Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
