Mrs. Elise Harlin, age 63, of Lyons, died Monday, December 30, 2024, at her home, after a sudden illness. She was born in Shields, Illinois on March 4, 1961, in a U.S. Naval hospital, to the late Orlan Ballar Nichols and Clara Elise Gilbert Nichols. She was a 1979 graduate of Saks High School in Anniston, Alabama, and she earned a Bachelor’s degree of Science Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. Elise lived in several southern states before moving to Lyons in 1985. She worked at Meadows Regional Medical Center, for Dr. Michael Goss, Vidalia Medical Associates, Southeast Regional Primary Care, Emanuel Medical Center, and currently working All Clean & Restoration since 2018. She was a member of the Oaks Baptist Church in Lyons. She enjoyed singing, playing piano, going to Lake Sinclair, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, her husband of thirty-eight years, Mike Harlin; and two brothers, Richard Nichols and John Nichols, precede her in death.
Her family includes two children, Chris A. Harlin of Panama City, Florida, and Elizabeth Harlin and Barrett Sorrow of Lyons; four grandchildren, Jacob Michael Harlin, Ella F. Erdody, William Rogers, and Sarah Harlin; two brothers, Stanley Nichols and wife Renee of Atlanta, and Phil Nichols of Arkansas; father-in-law, Howard Harlin and wife Ruby of Deatsville, Alabama; several nieces and nephews; and two long-time friends, Sheila Caraway of Lyons and Kathy Dixon Shehee of Vidalia.
A celebration of life will be Thursday afternoon, January 9th, 2025, at 3:00 at The Oaks Baptist Church with Pastor Christian Burton officiating. Burial will follow later at Lyons City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
