Mrs. Elaine Brandenburg, age 86, of Lyons, died Thursday, March 19, 2026, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native of Homestead, Florida and was a 1958 graduate of South Dade High School. She lived in Homestead until moving to Lyons in 1973. She was a member Lyons Community Church for more than fifty years, a member of the John Durst Sunday School Class, and she served on several church committees. She was a homemaker, and worked at Nip & Tuck Nursery in Lyons and the Lyons Elementary School. She enjoyed word puzzles, ceramics, and going to church and out to eat.
She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-two years, Jimmy Brandenburg; parents, Harold Lumpkin and Alma Davis Lumpkin; and three sisters, Marcia Crain, Mary Ellen Lawrence, and Louise Robertson.
Mrs. Brandenburg is survived by three children, Del Brandenburg and wife Angie of Tifton, Greg Brandenburg and wife Cathy of the Center Community, and Jamie Brandenburg Winge and husband Jimmy of Vidalia; one brother, William “Bill” Lumpkin of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Brett Brandenburg of Atlanta, Bryce Brandenburg and wife Amy of Tifton, and Blane Brandenburg of Lyons; four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Blakely Lennon, and Bishop Brandenburg; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 22nd, 2026, at 3:00 at Lyons Community Church with Pastor Brian Durden officiating. Interment will follow at Lyons City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 until just prior to the service.
