Mr. Edward O’Neal Hancock, age 71, of Vidalia, died Monday, November 9, 2020, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany after an extended illness. He was born in Palatka, Florida, as a child moved to the Toombs Central Community and attended Toombs Central School. He enjoyed fishing and riding horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. Hancock and Wilma Frances Driggers Hancock.
Survivors include three children, Maurine Hancock Hood and husband Anthony of Rock Springs, Georgia, Hope Hancock of Uvalda, and Susan Hancock Key of Vidalia; one brother, Tommy Bray and wife Alta of Vidalia; two sisters, Carolyn Chambers and Cynthia Oglesby of Thomaston; nine grandchildren, Jada Grace Carter, John Devin Asher Carter, Jessalyn Nicole Partin, Christopher Slade Partin, Georgia Hope Lumley, Christopher James Lumley, Robert James Fishback, Matthew Allen Fishback and Rylan Leigh Fraser; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 11th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hardens Chapel Cemetery with Tommy Bray officiating.
